Weekend Activities Set
Friday, August 17
We are meeting this first night at the Paris Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip for a wild show with X-Rated Hypnotist, Anthony Cools. This guy is hilarious and his show will be one to remember for a long time! Tickets are $52.75 per person + $6.75 Ticketmaster Rip Off, oops, Convenience Charge = $59.50 and the show lasts 90 minutes. You can purchase your tickets by going to this link: http://tinyurl.com/272m4d
His shows routinely sell out and it is highly advisable to purchase your tickets well in advance. I do not know if they accept walk-ins at the door.
Immediately following the show, we’ll be heading over to Napoleons, a bar located in the hotel for some drinks and to “talk story”.
Cost for the night depends on if you want to go to the show and how much you want to drink later at the bar.
Saturday, August 18
Our only “formal” get together that day is a sit down dinner at Bally’s Steakhouse at the Bally’s Hotel and Casino on the Strip. Dinner is at 7 pm and will consist of the following:
Steakhouse Salad
Butter Lettuce with Selected Mesclun, Spicy Cashews,
Tear Drop Tomatoes &Walnut Vinaigrette
Choice of Entrée
New York Sirloin
-Char-Broiled 16 oz. Strip
-Served with a choice of Béarnaise, Green Peppercorn or Morel Mushroom Sauce
Or Atlantic Salmon
-Pan Seared with Cipollini, Roma Tomatoes, Baby Artichoke Hearts & Chive Infused Oil
Or Roasted Chicken with Fine Herbs
-Oven Roasted Half Chicken with Oyster Mushrooms, Root Vegetables
Entrées are served with Potatoes & Fresh Vegetables
Dessert
Crème Brulee
Vanilla Custard with Fresh Fruit,
Whipped Cream & a Caramelized Sugar Crust
Coffee Service
Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee or Tea Service
$58.95 per person
All Prices Subject to 7.75% State Sales Tax & 20% Service Charge = $76.22 total
I realize that $76.22 is a lot for a dinner but the only other way to eat as a group would be at a buffet. We felt that a sit down dinner, while more expensive, would be less of a hassle for everyone. You wouldn’t have to constantly get up to get your food and you’d have more time to talk and socialize if the food came to you instead. We are totally open to other ideas though so if you would like to suggest something else, perhaps a little more reasonable, please do. If we don’t hear from anyone, this is the plan we’re going with. If we end up going with a sit down dinner at Bally’s Steakhouse, in order to save you and possibly your spouse a seat, I’d need to have your payment of $76.22 per person sent to me by July 14th. At that point, I would contact the restaurant with the final headcount and confirm our reservation. Checks can be sent to my home address, 4083 Puaole St, Lihue, HI 96766 and should be made out to “Kauai HS Class of ‘87”. Please do not make out the check to my name. By the way, this is one of the cheapest sit down dinners we could find for parties of 14 or more.
Following dinner, we could either gamble at the casino, move to another casino, or go to a bar or club somewhere else.
If you are planning to attend, please drop us a line so that we can get an idea of who will be making it. We started off with a lot of interest for a Vegas Reunion but as we’re getting nearer to the actual date, lots of “Guarans, I going!” are turning into, “Sorry, I can’t make it.” Either way, if we’re a party of 5 or a party of 50, we’re still going so we hope you can join us!
If you have any questions or want to suggest other ideas, please email me.
